We have been sharing our life with you all for a couple of years now! If you have been following along, then you know that after we completed our surrogacy journey, we had plans to travel while living in our RV full time as a family of four and homeschooling on the road with a new puppy!
We plan to hit the road for a year plus! Our end goal is to buy land and build, but because Dan has two hunting podcasts, The Nomadic Outdoorsman and The Western Rookie, and we both do Social Media, a life of travel made sense for us!
Did we downsize and sell our home? No, we didn’t have a home, we were renting. But yes we downsized! We spent a couple of weeks going through clothing and things we had in storage. The things we didn’t need in the RV, we left at my grandma's house.
We picked up our home on wheels from Camping World in Stafford, MO! The team there was amazing to work with and treated us like VIP!
Thanks to Camping World, we get to travel in a Thor ace 33.1 that fits all our needs for RV life on the road. The kids sleep above the bunk, we homeschool at the table, and our room doubles as Dan's podcast studio! Little scout also has a space of his own! Although we use to renovate RVs, we won’t be gutting this rig. We are doing small updates to the bathroom, kitchen, and living area like wallpaper from Target, and we modified the bunks to add a little divider for safety! See a quick tour HERE.
We couldn’t bring everything with us, but we did bring a few of our favorite things including our Aventon Ebikes and our favorite RV bedding from Beddy's! (Use code: DANANDSAM for 20% off). The rest of the things we needed for Rv life we got from Camping World. Things like chairs, a rug, sewer hoses, and even a new grill!
We are excited to explore new places and let our work events and Dan's hunting schedule guide us. We don’t really have a plan, but we will decide where we will go and where we will stay each time we hit the road. We have a Good Sam membership for when we stay at a campground and want full hookups, but we do love dispersed camping! Which is basically no hookups, using our generator for power, conserving water, and relying on our Starlink for WiFi.
We have a few states on our list: Wisconsin, Montana, Utah, Texas, and always Florida but many more will be added.
