Bonneville Salt Flats and Reno

The Bonneville Salt Flats were a must on my bucket list! If you haven’t been there you have to check it out! Although this trip didn’t go totally as planned, we had a blast! I am so glad we got to experience it as a family! Watch it all on YouTube here!

The Bonneville salt flats did not disappoint and it was another destination marked off my bucket list! However, on our way to the salt flats, it was a downpour and at one point it hailed. Apparently, we drove through a rare storm for Utah. So crazy! but we were determined to get to the salt flats so we could wake up to it. We actually parked at the rest stop right before the salt flat exit and it ended up giving us a front-row seat to the flats. It was the perfect backdrop to wake up to. Bonus, it was free to stay overnight. One of the good things about having your home of wheels… we can sleep where we park :)

Because of the rain, we didn’t get to drive out on the salt, but it ended up being so gorgeous. The reflection was beautiful and the kids had so much fun playing in the water and mud. And of course, we got some Great pics, videos, and content. That’s what it’s all about right? hahaha.

After some much-needed cleanup, we hit the road and headed for Reno to stay for the night. We learned that there were several active wildfires so the moment we got close to Reno we were greeted with a thick cloud of smoke. It gave me a headache so I’m glad our stay was short.

We booked a last-minute stay at Sparks Marina RV Park and it was SO nice!! The sites were so close but it was nice to have full hookups and all the amenities. The main reason we stopped here was to meet a friend I made on IG. Gracie is a surrogate and I actually helped her and her IPs meet :) we ate at big bears, did some TikTok’s, and took some pics. So fun stepping away to spend time with a friend after many many days of being with the kids alone! 🤪

While I was away the kids met some “friends” at the Rv park and we so wish we could have stayed longer to let them play, but we had to hit the road (Portland is our goal because I have a flight to catch. More on that soon)

After breakfast, we loaded up the rig and headed to the redwoods. Something we weren’t prepared for because it was way more gorgeous than we imagined. As always, thank you for following!

Stay tuned as we share more of our RV life adventures!
