Kansas City Trip for a behind-the-scenes at Gutted season 2!

In September 2021 we were part of a reality TV show were three teams competed to build out an RV, a skoolie, or a van! and we won! We returned for a behind-the-scenes of Gutted season 2 in Kansas City Missouri!

For Gutted season one, we were in the desert of Alamosa Colorado and it was more dusty and dirty than you could imagine. But after five long grueling hard days, and some amazing friendships formed, we came out with a win. This time Gutted was in Kansas City Missouri. Gutted festival season two was held at camp at Branch campground. No, we didn’t get to compete, but Dan mediated the panels, and we watched as three amazing teams work their butts off. One of the panels that took place during the week of Gutted was Bob Ross painting by my friend Rebecca. It was so fun getting to put on wigs and paint and my mom was awesome enough to drive up three hours to help watch the kids. They had so much fun seeing Mema again! She even painted one of the days. Everyone had a blast, and at night they had a live band and karaoke hang out at the escapee’s RV stage, and during the day the competitions were back at it in full force!

Another reason why we love events like Gutted is that we get to meet other people in the outdoor community. One example is my friend Kirsten from fifth wheel living. Kirsten and I have followed each other on social media for several years and we finally meet in person! She parked her truck next to us and she stayed in her rooftop tent. I’m so glad we finally got to hang out. Camp branch was such a beautiful campground and every chance we got, we busted out our favorite E-bikes for a family bike ride. We even cooked breakfast for some of the attendees, staff, and competitors a couple of mornings while we were there. It warmed my heart so much! I made waffles inside on our mini waffle maker and Dan cooked pancakes, bacon, eggs, and breakfast potatoes outside on the Blackstone grill.

I can’t tell you who won until the season aires, but I can tell you that it was a close one. All three teams finished this year and had amazing builds. Head to my YouTube to watch how our week at The Gutted festival went. You can also catch my season one episodes all about how we built out a van in five days and a quick recap of Gutted. we are hopeful that season three in 2023 will be just as amazing. Until next time, always choose adventure!
